3/5 stars - The actual artwork itself was spectacular. I would have given this 5 stars, but the shipping was a disaster. First, it was packed in bubble wrap, but with no glassine or anything, so now there's a pattern of round imperfections in the varnish (but thankfully no paint loss) you can see if you look at the right angle. But the real problem was the cardboard corner protectors used on a painting that wasn't dry. Those DID create actual paint loss near the edges that I had to use coloured sharpies to camouflage. The damage will be covered with a frame, but it's embarrassing to present a damaged painting as an anniversary gift. If the artist wasn't involved in shipping, I apologize for the 3-star rating as YOUR work was amazing, but receiving a noticeably damaged piece of fine art is not a 5 star experience, overall, particularly when there was a simple solution to prevent it.
